adam hansen

Professional Triathlete. Ironman Champion.

Adam Hansen is one of the most fascinating athletes on the planet.

A former professional cyclist since 2007, Adam has completed more consecutive Grand Tours than any other cyclist in history. During his career, he has won several tour stages and been part of the best sprint and lead teams in the world.

Once a triathlete, Adam has recently returned to triathlon and is starting to finish among the top ranks at some of the most competitive races in the world. We expect that Adam will continue to improve as he spends more time running and swimming.

Educated as a mechanical engineer, Adam constantly strives to make his equipment better. Working with his brand partners, Adam actively helps them improve their products by buildling and testing his own protpotypes. When he is not competing, Adam lives and trains in the Czech Republic.

Fuel an athlete in transition from

pro cyclist to professional triathlete.

Grand Tour cyclists and long-course triathletes both burn anywhere from 7,500 to 12,500 calories during a single event. But triathlon feeding can be a bit trickier. You can’t consume anything during the swim. Nearly all of your intake happens on the bike. The challenge is to consume the right amount of fuel at the right time without risk of gastro issues during the run. Neversecond’s products and guidance system help Adam consume large volumes of carbohydrate without the risk of GI problems.

Develop products which deliver very high

volumes of carbohydrate without GI distress.

During an 8-hour event, the biggest challenge nutritionally is to intake enough carbohydrate. Generally speaking, we encourage athletes to target 90g of car- bohydrate per hour on longer events like an Ironman. Many athletes historically have a hard time managing this volume out of fear of GI problems. Many max out ay 60g. Neversecond products are formulated to allow athletes to push their carbohydrate limit to 90g with proper testing and gut training. Adam and our other long-course athletes are all firm believers and practicioners of the 90g/hour target.

“Neversecond has really helped me as I have transitioned from cycling to long-course triathlon. The nutrition demands in Ironman are quite a bit different than stage racing. Having a guidance system and product precise nutrient values has made calculation foolproof.”
